test new functionality added since 4.4 M6
verify that severe bugs are correctly fixed
sanity check the build

Test New Functionality

Java 8 features (all - Questions: Markus)

try to find major problems in our support for Lambdas and Method References
look at real-world code from the JDK or from tutorials and try to modify or refactor it
write new code using the Streams APIs

Clean Ups to convert between Anonymous and Lambda (Noopur, Manju - Questions: Noopur/Markus)

run the clean ups on larger Eclipse SDK projects and verify the results
identify remaining problems (compile errors; semantic changes; missed conversion opportunities; too many / missing casts)

Content assist for 'for' loop suggests member variables (Manju, Markus - Questions: Noopur)

verify that the proposals with member variables are proposed when expected
verify that inserting the proposals does the right thing

IJavaElement.getAttachedJavadoc(IProgressMonitor) now throws exception if base URL is wrong (Markus, Noopur - Questions: Dani)

verify that excpetions are thrown in the expected cases
verify that the cache works (see bug 403154 comment 10)

New icons (all - Questions: Dani)

Go through the whole UI and look at the icons. If an icon looks strange, washed-out, or wrong, compare it to 4.3 and report a bug if the icon is indeed not OK.

Before starting to verify a bug add a comment indicating that you are about to verify it.

Sanity Check The Build (all)

Sanity check the build by using it for development (either on "real" code or your pet project).
