Update on what development happened across the Eclipse 4diac project in the week from June 27 to July 04, 2025.

This week in Eclipse 4diac: 4diac IDE received improvements to structured text editing, including support for finding function references and searching within function editors. Updates also addressed varconfig import issues, added missing function blocks to the 3.0.0 library, and enhanced the watch view. 4diac FORTE continued work on OPC UA integration with support for standard A&C properties and improved robustness for HMI tools, along with several refactorings and compilation fixes.

Update on what development happened across the Eclipse 4diac project in the week from June 20 to June 27, 2025.

This week in Eclipse 4diac: 4diac IDE received updates to the external library handling, improved SubApp support in the Bulk Editor, and better drag-and-drop behavior in the System Explorer. The connection layout algorithm now supports user-defined timeouts and considers comment fields during routing. In 4diac FORTE, clang-format integration was added along with fixes for debug-level logging in IEC 61131-3 function blocks.

This week’s updates brings major enhancements to the function block interface specification and composite FB support, aligning both 4diac IDE and 4diac FORTE with modern concepts like spans and structured data handling. In addition, the 4diac IDE sees numerous usability improvements in the Bulk Editor, better deployment tooling, and updated exporters for seamless integration with 4diac FORTE.
