Update on what development happened across the Eclipse 4diac project in the week from December 05 to December 12, 2025.

This update continues to refine and stabilize the Eclipse 4diac toolchain with many improvements in 4diac IDE, ranging from ST parsing and refactoring robustness to usability enhancements. In addition, maintenance and cleanup tasks were carried out across 4diac FORTE, documentation, and 4diac FBE.

Eclipse 4diac 3.0 Released!

Eclipse 4diac 3.0 is here! After more than two years of development, nearly 7600 commits, and a major stabilization effort in the last weeks, this release brings a new Structured Text editor, improved IEC 61499 validation, a modernized 4diac FORTE, and the brand-new 4diac FBE build environment.

This week’s updates bring a wide range of improvements for 4diac IDE, including fixes in type handling, enhanced search and navigation, and better deployment and export workflows. 4diac FORTE also received important updates, improving OPC UA deployment and fixing installation issues across multiple communication modules.
