Eclipse Papyrus-Desktop

Since Papyrus 7.0, which is based on Eclipse 2025-06, Papyrus now includes diagrams powered by Sirius-Desktop. These replace its legacy GMF-based diagrams. To reflect this new architecture, we decided to rename this version Papyrus-Desktop, distinguishing it from previous releases. Additionally, this new version of Papyrus introduces updated Properties Views based on EEF. However, the legacy GMF-based diagrams and XWT properties views are still included, although the latter are disabled by default (they can be reactivated via preferences). This transition to Sirius-Desktop and EEF enhances performance, scalability, and user experience.

Update Sites

Setup Eclipse Papyrus-Desktop with Update Sites

• The most basic procedure for installing Eclipse Papyrus consists in installing the Eclipse Modeling Package for your own platform.
• Then, you have to use the discovery interface ("Help" > "Install New Software") and add the desired Update site.
• You can find the latest release of Eclipse Papyrus Desktop in the "Update sites" section below.

Update Sites

Eclipse provides facilities for adding new software to the platform or updating software in the system. In all cases, the site location (i.e. the Web URL or the archived Update Site provided above) is the only required item to update or install a software within Eclipse.

Eclipse Papyrus-Classic

With the first release of Papyrus 7.0, based on a new architecture and renamed Papyrus-Desktop, we decided to rename the well-known Papyrus tool to Papyrus-Classic. Thus, Papyrus-Classic represents the final version of Papyrus, using GMF Runtime for its diagrams and XWT for its Properties Views. The last release of Papyrus-Classic was based on Eclipse 2024-06.
